🛟 If You Fall In — Do This

  1. First 60 seconds: DON'T PANIC. Control your breathing. Fight the gasp reflex. Keep your mouth above water.
  2. Next 10 minutes: Don't try to swim (unless boat is within arm's reach). Get into HELP position — knees to chest, arms crossed. Let your PFD hold you.
  3. Signal for help: Use your whistle (attached to PFD). Wave ONE arm. Conserve energy.
  4. If with others: Huddle together. Body heat preservation.
  5. Stay with the boat: Even a capsized boat is easier to spot than a person in the water.
🦺
Wear Your PFD. Every Trip. No Exceptions.
A PFD doubles your survival time. It keeps your head above water when your muscles can't. Most drowning victims had a PFD on board — just not on their body.
